This restaurant is the standard for what fine dinning is. Took my wife here for her 4 day birthday celebration and she loved it. The customer service was 10/10. We both loved the food so much we can't stop talking about it. I had the best steak of my life here. I can't wait to come back.

Genuinely amazing food and atmosphere. The steak offerings are superb. It's a wonderful place to celebrate special occasions, catch up with friends, or just enjoy amazing food and drinks while you listen to live music in an upscale atmosphere. The price matches the quality and experience you will have here. The staff was knowledgeable on their wine selections and menu options and offered genuine opinions when you asked for them. They also went above and beyond to make sure that you have your food prepared exactly the way that you requested it. If there is something that is not listed on the menu, they make every effort to prepare it for you anyway. The wine selection here is extensive and well curated. Most wines are available by the bottle, but they also offer a wide variety of wines by the glass. Additionally, they cater to people who do not want to drink with a craft non alcoholic hand made mocktails, and other espresso drinks. It's good to get a reservation when you visit since it can often fill up. However, there is always an open seating bar with full service and friendly bartenders. There is indoor, bar, and outdoor seating. If you end up having to wait, you are already located next to Seaport Village, which is a wonderful place to walk around. There is lots of parking near by, nearly all of it is paid parking. Valet is offered some nights.

My family celebrated my birthday here on January 11. We've eaten at their Orange County location and didn't have high expectations. I chose this restaurant primarily for its proximity to our hotel, the Grand Hyatt Manchester. We needed a place easily accesible for my father and his motorized scooter. My father had no problems navigating his scooter to the elevator inside the restaurant. The hostess kindly guided us to a nice table just inside a large dining room on the second floor with ample room for his scooter nearby. Our meal and the service we received from Polly blew us away and made for a truly memorable evening! We started with cocktails and the smoked old fashioned was smooth, perfectly balanced, and one of the best cocktails I've had to date. I still dream about that cocktail and wish I'd ordered more than one! We enjoyed the live jazz music playing in the background, but it wasn't so loud that it interfered with our dinner conversations. The four of us ordered the calamari, crab cake, two orders of seabass, a bone-in ribeye, fried rice, and grilled asparagus. Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the crab cake and seabass. Polly paced the meal perfectly and was super attentive even though our order was quite modest, especially for a busy weekend night. Thank you Polly for the memorable birthday meal! I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!!

Thank you from all of our hearts for the beautiful and delicious banquet in Celebration of our son. Each detail was exquisite in presentation and flavor. Your staff were attentive and personable. We had a wonderful evening and will hold this in our memories as one of our finest meals out away from home. We will return again and recommend you our friends and family.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Eddie V’s in San Diego, and I have to say, my experience was beyond exceptional thanks to my server, Chelsea. From the moment I sat down, Chelsea made me feel welcome and comfortable as a solo diner. She was not only super attentive, checking on me multiple times, but she also connected with me on a personal level since we both have young children. She understood that this was a much-needed mom’s night out and went above and beyond to make it special. I started with the crab cake as an appetizer, which was to die for. It was seven ounces of pure heaven. For my main entrée, I chose the special, which included filet medallions cooked medium-rare with three garlic scampi-seasoned shrimp, and they were phenomenal. Chelsea wined and dined me with such genuine care that it elevated the entire evening. She made sure I felt seen and appreciated, and even surprised me at the end with a complimentary glass of champagne and cookies, which was such a thoughtful touch. And as if that wasn’t enough, she also gave me a rose to take home. It’s the little things like this that set Eddie V’s apart, and I truly believe Chelsea is a gem. If you’re ever dining here, do yourself a favor and ask for her—she will tailor the experience to your needs and make it unforgettable. I left feeling uplifted and appreciated. You simply won’t find better service anywhere else. Thank you, Chelsea, for an amazing evening!

One of the best meals we had in our week long trip to SD. 1. Service was excellent. Above and beyond to make sure the dining experience was perfect. Checked in frequently to make sure everything was perfect, but not overwhelming/in your face. 2. Drinks: 1. Margarita was initially to sweet, but on request made it again perfectly. 2. The old fashioned was a bit too sweet for my liking, but that is personal preference. 3. Food: Apps: Yellow tail sashimi was perfect. Second course: Maine lobster bisque. Bisque if poured table side on a warm crouton and lobster. The lobster texture was excellent. The bisque was excellent, with the right amount of cream - not too heavy. Main course #1: Chilean sea bass. Steamed, almost perfectly. Like most thick filets, it is difficult to steam to perfection, and 96% of the filet was perfect, with a very small amount which was slightly tough. This is acceptable, as I would prefer that than over cooked sea bass. The texture and flavor really was excellent. The sherry soy, sautéed spinach and pickled ginger complemented, and never overwhelmed the simple perfection of steamed sea bass. Main course #2: Ahi tuna. As expected, it was seared perfectly on the outside only. The togarashi spice gave it a nice flavorful kick but I can see how the heat may be too much for some with a lower spice threshold. Accompaniments: Butter poached lobster mashed potatoes. Not your grandmothers mash. The texture of the mashed potato was perfect, and then through on the creamy butter sauce and very generous amount of lobster and you have perfection! Dessert: Bananas foster butter cake. We did not order the actual full dessert but received two smaller complimentary servings of it for our celebration, which was a nice touch. Flambeed table side, it was a nice treat to end our meal, and can only imagine how decadent the full dessert would have been. The chocolate brownie cookie was an excellent touch! 4. Ambiance: We sat in the lounge area near the live music. Most of the the fellow diners were dressed well, with a few casual diners. The trio was excellent, and had us tapping our hands and feet, or bobbing our heads continuously. Lively part of the restaurant, but not so noisy that you we couldn't have a conversation.

Eddie V's downtown really is the most pleasurable dining experience. We eat in the bar/lounge because we connect deeply with the live music and energy of the bar staff and patrons. And we sit in a large booth for comfort. The staff is so attentive and solicitous of our comfort. The live music soothes and excites us. The food is THE BEST above all local restaurants including Fleming's, Mister A's, Ruth's Chris, Top of The Market. The food, the ambiance and the service all tops, fully exceeding expectations. I love, love, love Eddie V's downtown.
