Bavette’s Bar and Bouef is an absolute gem! Our family dined here recently, and everything we tried was beyond delicious. The kids enjoyed their burger, my husband savored the aged steak, and I had the roasted chicken. For sides, we shared sweet potatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, and Brussels sprouts—every dish was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Our waiter was exceptional—friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. Dessert was a treat! The kids loved the ice cream fondue, and I couldn’t get enough of the refreshing mango sorbet. The ambiance was fantastic—chic, romantic, and inviting. This was an unforgettable dining experience, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Loved my experience here. Drinks were great and the dark atmosphere made it seem very personal. Restaurant was super busy but it still felt intimate. Some of the tables are very close together which would take away from the experience but still great. Everything we tried on the menu was amazing. Would highly recommend!

By far my favorite restaurant in the city! The steak is always amazing, but the sides truly stand out and are easily the best in Chicago. The elote, mushrooms, and truffle mac and cheese are to die for! Bread service is always wonderful as well. I miss this place so much since I moved to another city for college!

Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf lives up to all the hype and more! After seeing so many posts on Instagram, I couldn’t wait to try it, and it did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in, the intimate atmosphere pulls you in—the dim lighting with just the glow of tabletop candles sets the tone for a perfect dining experience. We ordered the classic Chicago steak, and it was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth. The bone marrow is an absolute must, and the salmon crudo was packed with flavor. The cod was equally impressive, tender and buttery, and the small bread portion was more than enough for three people. Don’t skip the mac and cheese—it’s the perfect complement to the meal. Every dish was incredible, and the service was attentive and seamless. I’m so glad we made time for Bavette’s while in Chicago. This is a dining experience that stands out in every way!

It’s pricey. But If you love a dark, cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and great service, Bavette’s is worth it. A nice place to dine with a group of friends, or enjoy an intimate meal with your spouse or date.

We somehow got last minute (like 8 hours before the dining time) to Bavette’s while visiting Chicago for a weekend. We had initially heard that this was a must go to spot for dinner but the reservations are almost nonexistent! We got a late night reservation for 10pm which was actually a GREAT time to go! The dimly lit, romantic atmosphere is perfect for this restaurant. The ambiance is incredible in itself. I highly recommend the dirt martini to start! 100/10! Their bar knows how to make drinks excellently. The espresso martini is also amazing. AND please get the chocolate martini for dessert. You will not regret it. The bread service is an add on and I deft recommend it. It was delicious! The butter was almost better than the bread. The highlight of our meal was the shellfish tower. MUST GET! Don’t look at the price, just get it. This seafood was so insanely fresh and probably some of the best tasting crab and lobster I’ve ever had. It was my fav part of the meal!! We all got steaks as well, which were super yummy too but all I can remember is that seafood. Service is amazing, bar staff AMAZING! I can’t say enough good things about Bavette’s and I’m so happy we were able to experience it during our quick weekend trip to ChiTown.

Bavette's parlor is dark, sexy, romantic, and intimate! This place is a must for a special night out with your SO. The experience alone is unforgettable! The setting, perfection. The wait staff, on point. The food... the foooood!!! Sooo good! The truffle mac was totally outrageous! The main event, the steak... we had the bone-in dry aged ribeye, plenty to share, but it was so delicious I wish we hadn't! Thank you, Bavette's, for making our evening one we will never forget!

MY OH MY. All I can say is it’s worth the hype and money. Definitely need to return and try other things on the menu. I recommend the classic ribeye, bone marrow, beef tartare (my favorite), spicy chicken. for sides we got truffle mac n chz, asparagus, baked potato. for cocktails i chose the vesper good but very boozy and my husband got a mai tai (not on the menu but good)! my husband and i came for our anniversary and got a complimentary icecream with fudge. I also got the chocolate pie for dessert and ended with a cappuccino and my husband got a macchiato. all delicious!!!! I wish I got our servers name because he was the BEST!!!!!!!!! He was super nice and always checked on us. He literally reglassed my cocktail in a new COLD GLASS because I was babysittin, like i said she was boozy. I need to find out he deserves all the praise and the bus boy too! Bus boy was so attentive, constantly refilling our waters and picking up finished plates. Worth the visit and money, ambience was nice felt like i traveled back in time.
