My husband and I recently celebrated our 15-year wedding anniversary at The Derby in Arcadia, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond to make our evening special. We had a 5 PM reservation but arrived a little early, so we grabbed a drink at the bar while the hostess checked if we could be seated sooner. To our delight, they accommodated us 15 minutes ahead of schedule—such a thoughtful touch! I started with the Phar Lap, their take on a Moscow Mule, and it was absolutely refreshing. Once seated, we were welcomed with fresh cheese bread (a delicious start) and had the pleasure of being served by Ally—one of the most gracious and attentive waitresses we've ever had. She truly elevated our experience. We each ordered another round of drinks and opted for the Dine LA menu, expecting a great meal, but we were pleasantly surprised by just how generous the portions were! We left completely satisfied, with leftovers to enjoy later. Though our meal included dessert, we were so full that we asked for it to go. To our surprise, The Derby treated us to a Baked Alaska in honor of our anniversary—our first time ever trying one! Watching the 151-proof rum ignite into a mesmerizing blue flame as it toasted the meringue was such a fun and memorable experience. From start to finish, The Derby made our anniversary dinner feel incredibly special. The warm atmosphere, fantastic food, and top-tier service left a lasting impression, and we can’t wait to return. A huge thank you to Ally and the entire team for making our night so wonderful!

An absolutely amazing place to enjoy fine dining in Arcadia. We were there to enjoy a fine meal and celebrate my birthday. Barbara, who’s been with the Derby for over 17 years, was our most outstanding host and entertainment for the evening. She and her partner James provided outstanding service and made the evening exceptionally pleasant and enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed their respective meals, drinks, the warm and cozy fireplace and the overall ambience. The Derby offers a dining experience for which memories are made!

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately in the middle of our meal the power went out and halted all cooking operations so we were not able to get past the appetizers. Nonetheless, based on the experience we had The Derby still deserves 5 stars all around. The interior is huge with lots of rooms and tables, and the staff are very friendly and professional. UPDATE: I went back for Valentine’s Day and got the sweetheart steak for 2. The steak itself was huge but tasted like a very cheap cut of meat. They had to drench it in sauce to make it flavorful. The sides were decent and the dessert sampler was fantastic. Overall though the food was not as exquisite as I expected, but the ambiance and service are incredible.

Excellent food and service. We ordered prime rib, NY strip, and medallions. Prime rib was juicy and so tender. I preferred the NY strip which was perfect. Amazing appetizers too, like this thinly sliced salmon. It was worth splurging here for my birthday. Server also gifted me a box of cookies.🥰

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating a Friendsmas gathering with my girlfriends at The Derby, a restaurant that came highly recommended. We dressed up for the occasion and were excited to experience what this establishment had to offer. First, I would like to commend the complimentary valet parking service, which alleviated the hassle of finding a place to park. For those who prefer, there is also a self-parking option available. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with an array of Christmas decorations, exuding an elegant old Hollywood ambiance, complete with wood accents and cherry-red booths, making it an ideal location for family or group outings. We had a reservation for 6:30 PM and arrived a bit early. I am pleased to report that we were seated promptly according to our scheduled reservation. Our server, Michael, provided exceptional customer service—truly a 10 out of 10. He welcomed us warmly, expertly explained the menu and drink options, and made excellent recommendations without being intrusive. Now, onto the food—remarkable is an understatement. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were bursting with flavor, warranting a rating of 10 out of 10. The drinks—apple martinis, lemon drops, and cosmos—were also perfectly crafted. We also enjoyed calamari and fried Brussels sprouts, both of which were delicious, especially the Brussels sprouts with their sweet vinaigrette. We were seated near the fireplace, adding to the cozy atmosphere. We brought a bottle of champagne and paid the corkage fee; the staff thoughtfully put it on ice and provided us with champagne flutes, enhancing our experience. To conclude the evening, we indulged in dessert—specifically, the highly recommended bread pudding, which lived up to the nostalgic memories from my childhood with my grandfather. Overall, The Derby exceeded our expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience.

We had the best anniversary dinner. The food and service were top notch. They even gave us a complimentary Baked Alaska. I loved the Halloween decor. We got the 3 course dinner and the shrimp cocktail was the best I ever had.

Great food. Michael was our server. Very attentive and friendly. Good value. My wife and I celebrated Nee Years a day early to avoid the crowd. New to the area. This was our second visit to the Derby. It was as good as our first. We both had Lobster, calamari, and the wedge salad with the yummy garlic bead and au gratin potatoes and carrots with mini pepper drops. The Derby is our new go to for fine food, good service and a good value. Love the nostalgia of the Santa Anita memorabilia and the Sinatra music venue. Good fairly priced wine list too. Love the old booths. Time to recover the seats. We will be returning.

The experience was nothing short of spectacular. Jackie provided excellent service. Everything about this place is classy. The food was delicious and one of the best. This was our first time and we love it here. Jackie made our anniversary date night a special one. She was very attentive and sweet. She was on point with making sure we were taken care of. Kudos to the chef. We cannot stop talking about how delectable, flavorful and tasty the food was. We want some more as I type this. The place itself it quite a gem.
